We are having our Chapter 3 Test on Friday.
Make sure you have memorized the following formulas:
Distance Formula
Slope Formula
Point-Slope Formula
Slope-Intercept Formula
Standard Form of a Linear Equation
If you memorize the above formulas and are able to understand and do all of the problems that were assigned for the Chapter 3 Review and the Chapter 3 Test, you will be well-prepared for Friday's test.

CNotes 3 • Graphing Linear Equations
Today we did notes on Graphing Linear Equations. We have already covered this in our homework, so these notes are an attempt to consolidate what we have learned so far. If you weren't here, I have three things for you to glue into your Interactive Notebook. So don't start these notes until you get the inserts.

HW 3.4a • Due Thursday, April 30
Tuesday, April 28, 2015
Set 3.4a • pp. 127-128
1-26 (do 2 skip 2)
Work through the examples on 123-124
On #1-8, you will plug the information into the point-slope formula and then manipulate the equation to get it into standard form (Ax + Bx = C)
On #9-18, you will first need to use the slope formula to determine the slope, then using the slope and one of the points, plug into the point-slope formula and again express your final answer in the standard form.

HW Graphing Packet • Linear Equations
April 21st, 2015
Today, I handed out a packet of graphing worksheets that we began going over in class. We worked through 295, 297, 299, 300, and 302. They are not due yet, but it would be good to be caught up on these by Thursday.

Set
3.1 •
pp. 95-96
#1-64 (÷3)
Today, we looked at the Rectangular Coordinate Point system, also known as, the Cartesian coordinate system (named after French Mathematician and Philosopher, Rene Descartes). In particular, we looked at how to find the distance between two points and how to find the slope of a line. Read through the chapter, and then do the indicated problems.

or 95 • 3D Artifact
Today's assignment is working with the Pythagorean Theorem. If you were not here, make sure to read pages 435-436 before trying to complete the problems #71-91.
As for problems 94 or 95, you need to pick one of these problems, and make the cube (or the rectangular box) according to the dimensions that are given. I don't want you to draw it, I want you to make a 3D artifact. I then want you to work the problem to find the measurement of the diagonal, and then I want you to measure your diagonal on your artifact, and see how close you came.

P.O.W. • February 16 – 20
Extra Credit
The Problem of the Week is due at the beginning of the class on Friday.
The ^ symbol indicates that what follows is an exponent. For example, x^2 = "x squared." So, in this week's P.O.W., 8 to the power of 2x + 1 equals 4 to the power of 1 – x.
